Distributors of seafood and meat rely on their suppliers to provide products that have met their customers' specifications. While the responsibility of any food safety issue will be brought back to the supplier, it is important to work with an insurer and broker who understands the risks of distribution and one who can design coverage that provides protection from product recalls, liability for foodborne illness and fortuitous events, such as fire, theft, earthquake, windstorm and flood.
