 Foreign Processors and Suppliers

A processor is always the party held responsible for finished product that fails to meet the specifications set by the importer. Food safety violations related to decomposition, salmonella, E. coli, and unapproved antibiotics are inherent risks to the harvesting and processing sectors. It is the processor who must guarantee their products will pass FDA or USDA inspections at time of entry and have strong HACCP controls in place to eliminate these hazards from each sector.

MMIB understands the financial burden and responsibilities placed on both suppliers and processors and has developed insurance products embedded with expertise that will prove their products' compliance, help them design corrective actions to mitigate future violations, remove them from import alerts, and provide certain indemnifications that will help them manage both single and/or a series of detention events. Processors can rely upon MMIB to provide solutions to immediate detention events and to help eliminate their exposure to future food safety violations.
