Seafood Processors

Processors are always held responsible by the importer when their shipments are detained and refused by a food regulator. Therefore, the processor needs a third party who has the expertise to challenge these detention events and to identify their exposures to substantial expenses that can flow from FDA enforcement tools known as Predict or from being placed on USFDA import alerts.

MMIB understands the financial burden and responsibilities placed on seafood processors and has developed insurance strategies that will guide them through any detention event. These strategies can prove a products' compliance, design corrective actions to mitigate future violations, remove processors from import alerts, and provide certain indemnifications that will mitigate a processor's financial exposure to one detention or a series of detention events. Processors can rely upon MMIB to provide guidance to immediate detention events and to help reduce their exposures to future regulatory detention and refusal actions.
